I have a 268. When everything is turned off (Engine Start& Ship Systems) if I hook up the battery I get a small spark. It appears to be reading .41 Amps when i measure the draw with an ampmeter but I may not be reading it right. About the same on either system. The batteries are not going dead over a week, but that is no comfort when it looks like something is on. I did the thing where you remove all the fuses individually and measure the draw. Same results. .41. At first I thought it might be me or the meter. When I saw the sparks, I new something was up. What gets me is that it happens with either battery bank (3 battery system) and un fusing things didn't help. Any Ideas? |

The smoke detectors use power unless you shut the battery selector switch to the off position. The bilge pump always has power to it unless you disconect the all the batteries. The pump won't draw any current of course unless it's running. |

I have a 2005 vista 288 and both the radio and the bilge pump have power. The radio has power to keep the time setting even when the batteries are off and the ship sytems switch is off . |

That's also true on the 248 Vista as well. |

the bilge pump would only have power if there was a short. I will disconnect the switch and disconnect the radio and see how the amps read. could be the radio. i know the fuel meter is always on, but i unplugged that manually. i can do the same with the radio and the bilge. |
