I am 80% done replacing my entire waste system. Odor permeated hoses finally made it unpleasant. I have everything out and replaced EXCEPT the line from the head to to tank. It's disconnected on both ends but I can't get it to budge. I had PLANNED to pull the new line through using the old, but SOMETHING sure has it secured.

Any ideas on how to get the old line out? Access panels I am not seeing? It's stuck but good!

M

My guess is that the holes which were drilled through the various bilge compartments to run the hose to the engine space were sealed with the expandable foam which would hold the hose inplace and prevent any chaffing of the hose. I've seen it in my 248 Vista

You are referring to selaing the holes through the bulkehead right? Not the whol cavity? If so freeing up the foam (if there is any) shoould free the line right?

Yes it should, IF you can get to the foam to clear it out.

Well it was a cool 100 degress here in Mass today, so i decided to go back out and give it another try. Found that under the mattress in the aft cabin there is an angled carpet cover, held in by two screws. It runs the width of the cabin (front to back that is). Low and behold it was there to cover the hose! From there I was able to pull it INTO the cabin from the engine compartment and also from the haed (trying not to drip was fun).

So, this turns out to be a VERY easy thing to replace if your head smells from hose saturation. The very design on this mdoel at best SUCKS. The tank is higher than the line, so it remains, under the best of circumstances, full of salt water, and, under the worst, it's always full of waste. Shame on Four Winns for setting this up like this.

Anyhow, thanks to those who tried to help. File this info for the next poor soul. If you have this design and smell pull those two screws and smell the hose. If it stinks replace it.. Only cost about 30 minutes of work and 20.00 in hose
