Wife says the OE galley faucet has to go. I searched and saw a couple posts where people have replaced their galley faucet. Can I replace with any faucet I like or is there something special about marine faucets? The first mate says she wants a pull out sprayer and since she does the dishes she gets a sprayer now

Only thing special about a marine faucet is the price. Take yours out and goto your local plumbing supply parts house, get whichever one she likes.

I agree regarding using regular plumbing fixtures. Down in the cabin there's really no need to having anything 'marine grade' about it. One could argue it's not even necessary above decks, as long as you're prepared to replace it more often. The price differential is often great enough to make it worth considering.

I would never go back to having a sink fixture that doesn't have a single handle with hose on the main spout. It makes it MUCH easier to deal with cleaning up pots and pans. Both at home and on the boat.

The plumbing underneath may have something 'boat specific' for where it attaches to the actual water lines. But there are adapters from those fittings to regular plumbing threads.
