I bought a 19" LCD to install in the Vista. My question is where did you tap into a 12v source? Do you go back to the batteries, or can I tap into power at the 12v breaker by the battery switch?

What do you think about installing a battery above the mid berth/under the drivers seat in all that open area?

Well, I mounted mine on the wall that makes up the head. I just ran an extension cord up and over throught the headliner to the power center at the galley. Of course, I can only use it while at the dock unless i use an Inverter.

WOW what an easy install! Mounted it above the mid berth on a $30 Walmart mount. 2 bolts with easy access once the dash was removed, then surprise there was a ground and power wire all ready to go where the empty Aux switch would be. The whole install only took about 45min and we now have a 19" 12v TV. (and we thought we were going to have to result to talking to each other on the boat  )

Now you have me leaning toward the tv again! Would you mind telling me the details about the TV you chose. There seems to be a mix of people say buy an official 12v tv and others who say buy a regular and cut off the block. I can't decide which route to go. Thanks!

I was going to go the buy a regular tv and cut off the transformer but I couldn't find one with an external transformer. I bought a Skyworth 19" HD Tv off ebay for 285, it is just about as big as you could fit in the space. The install was very easy and were happy with it.

I have a swing out mount that I saw from Al's (the boat guy) site. It's mounted to the cabinet and can be viewed from the fore or aft berth. I was using an ac/dc RCA TV/DVD player until the input circuit went out... It was nice to have DirectTV on the boat, especially when football season begins.

I am considering a new unit.. Bndfishing, let me know how the Skyworth works out.

Thanks.

Finally got some good pictures of the TV install. So far I'm really happy with the Skyworth, the audio could use improvement but when I install a new stereo it will have an aux input so that will help the audio. The wire you see in the picture is the antenna the TV comes with, we were watching the NASCAR race (well flipping channels when we took the picture)
