I am the proud new owner of a 2005 Vista 248 and so far I love the boat. The only thing missing that would make me happy is a remote controlled flood light on the bow. Has anybody tips about models and directions on how to mount it?

Thanks in advance.

Ric,

Lots of the 248's came from the factory with a white plastic Jabsco helm controlled spot light, mine has it and I love it! But if I were installing one today I would go with the stainless steel model. Talk to MKIVBREN here on these forums and he can supply you with the part number he used on his 248.

It mounts on the stainless steel plate up on the bow rail.

I didn't know that the 248's came without one?

Here is the best photo I can find showing the GO-LIGHT on our 2008 V248 bow rail.

There is a good shot of the OEM Guest (ITT, Jabsco) remote spot light on my 06, this unit was used on most of the years.

I didnt realize that they didnt come with a spot light either. If yours never had one, the Go light that beach bob has comes in a remote control version. That might simplify intallation, all you would need to run is a power and ground for it, otherwise you have the controll harness to deal with as well. I put one on my sisters 225 sundowner, she loves it.

My 248 has one, it a west marine hand held   it is 1,000,000 candle power!!

A nice SS spot light mounted up on the bow rail would be nice!! I have noticed a few vistas without lights? So the factory did not put them on every one, and/or dealers did not order that option?!?!

Does anybody else have issues with the light moving? I am going to have to take it apart to lube it up and get it moving better...

Thanks

My guess is the wire to power it will be in the harness in the achor locker. I can look and see what color wire mine is, if the are the same to a 268. Let me know and Ill take a pic
