I cannot get my A/C pump to pull water? The valve is open. Anyone have any ideas? I was told to take the boat out, get it on plane, and once I did that the pump would prime itself. However, this did not work. The boat is a 2008 318 Vista. |

I don't know if your system is the same as out V248 but this is what I did to insure it was primed. I opened the sea cock then simple used a water hose and nozzle and back flushed it thru the a/c pump outlet. Once you see the filter fill with water keep back flushing it for a couple minutes then the sytem should be primed. |

Have you pulled the sea strainer and checked to make sure that it is clean? I have had mine pick up sea grass from time to time. Also if you are very carefull you can crack the valve and fill the bowl with water and it is the last spot before the A/C so it should prime from that point. Also, when you are under the seat you can hear if the pump is running just some thoughts. |

I just had the same problem with my A/C, just turn the A/C on (set temp so the compressor engages) and remove the line coming off the pump (outlet of the pump). You wont need to remove it all the way, just enough and it will burp the air out. I have however been told the running on plane trick works but never tried it, maybe you have a another problem |

Running on plane work for me this spring. It's the easiest thing to try. I've heard that you can just hold a garden hose to the exit thru hull and it will push water all the way through to the strainer. Never had the nerve to try it. |

This trick worked on my Maxum 3000SCR everytime but would only recommend it from a secure dock. I keep a small wet/dry shop vac in my dock box for general maintenance cleanup. Simply open the valve on the through-hull and then place the hose over the outlet. The shop vac had enough strength to draw the water through the sea-strainer, pump, and the rest of the system. I removed the hose as soon as I felt the water hit the hose. I use the same method to winterize the system once the boat is on the hard. I do open the sea-strainer and shop vac out any residual water. |
