Hello all,
The gas gauge and speedometer are not working. Are they on the same wire or circuit or something? Is there a way to track when you need gas without the gauge? See the tank, hours, any little tricks of the trade? Just need to not run out of gas...

thanks in advance

Does your 1998 238 Vista have a VDO automotive style instrument pack? if so, there are a lot of threads on this site about those packs and issues.

Short of fixing the issues, some flow measuring gauges are available. Some of them, and suitable GPS plotter that can take an input from flow senders, have the facility to indicate remaining fuel in the tank, range and flow. They are very accurate, far more accurate than the standard fit fuel gauge. I have a Navman set up on my boat, I believe Lowrance also have something that does the same.
