Does anyone know what type of light bulb is used in the cockpit lighting for a 2003 Vista 248? I would like to get LED replacement for these.

Anyone done this?

Do you mean the clear courtesy lights? If so they are 168/194. I just bought 2 to replace mine this weekend. I have added LED lights under the rear cockpit seats and I wanted to match them.

Thanks Teker! Yes, I believe there are 3 on my boat. One by the cabin doorway, one in the recessed cooler area and one under the starboard lounge seat.

Where did you buy yours? What color LEDs did u install? Have any pictures?

This is where I bought the bulbs(http://www.premiertek.net).Click on Auto Lighting. I bought the ones with the most LEDs that would fit in those lights. They are cool white to match the other LEDs. Will install on Fri and see if there bright enough.

I installed LED strips from (http://www.oznium.com). 2, 12 inch strips under the rear cockpit seats with 3M trim double sided tape connected to the cockpit light switch. I also have blue LED strips under the extended swim platform on separate switch.

Teker,

Did you post a write up or pics on this before? If so could u please let me know where they are? I am looking at doing the replacement of the cockpit lights, as well as the platform and underwater on a separate switch as u did. Would like them to all be the same color.

Do u remember what you paid per "bulb"?

Thanks

Check out the sights I posted or search on Ebay. There are all sizes and prices out there.
The 168 bulbs for the cockpit lights were $9 a pair. I used Flexable strips under the seats and a 3 ft strip under the swim platform. I never did a post on this before.
Tom

I have the 4-LED 194 from http://www.superbrightleds.com $1.59 each. Very quick shipping, and I've had them in there almost a year without an issue.

As bright, if not brighter. I went with red to not impair my night vision.

just installed them. don't have pics yet...

some initial thoughts.

I purchased them via superbrightleds as suggested by firecat, thanks! Inexpensive and fast delivery as stated.

I actually bought both blue and white 4 LED bulbs. My impression was that the stock bulbs were slightly brighter. And the blue were brighter than the white. At the end I went with blue bulbs (admirals choice). I will try and get some pics later but since the sun is starting to set here I can already see they look really nice.

Ok here are the pics as promissed. I couldn't get a good picture with or without the flash but you have both here to give u an idea. With the sun completely set these lights really look awesome. It is the cheapest mod done and one of my favorites.

I looked at the site, and without having my bulbs handy, which ones exactly did you get ?
There are several 194/168 types on the site.

These ?
