hi everyone i bought a 2000 248 vista last may.....its my first ever boat....on my first outing i was with an experienced boater but i still manageed to ding the prop slightly damaging the large rear prop....its a 5.0 liter volvo with dual stainless props...any way before i hit i had 5 adults and two 8 yr olds on board...the boat planed well and hit a top speed of 38 mph on the speedo.....i had the props checked quickly after i hit and it was determined i could go the summer with them ...i never came close to that mph again..and it would hardly plane with 4 people on board.....my boat is now repaired in the water and ready to go.....after all my babbling my question is simple..is my top speed before i dinged the prop very accurate ....im just asking what kind of performance i should expect ..i have nothing to go by except that short run last year...thanks for any info

Don't know if it's accurate you will need a GPS to be sure of that...but it sounds impressive especially with 7 on board. Was it flat calm? Are you at sea-level?
