The swim platform remote for the sony stereo on my 03 268 Vista has stopped functioning. Has anyone had the same issue? How long do they typically last in the harsh marine environment? The remote is the original factory one made by accel technologies. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. |

We are only on our second season of the remote. I think it still works. We hardly use it. Since we listen to the ipod so much, the only thing it gets used for is to control the volume. I did notice the other night when we were out that it lights up....that was an interesting surprise, lol. I had no idea. |

Like these ? ![]() If so, I have one that works fine on the dash. I replaced the stereo and it was one of the few Sony HU's that are not RM-X2C and RM-X4S compliant. So I no longer use it. You can have it for free, if you want to pull the unit and remote cable out. I have no idea where the cables is routed. |

Mine looks the same, except the buttons are marked ever so slightly different and it doesnt actually say Sony on it...it has the brand of the actual remote..Access or whatever it is. |

My 2001 Horizon 230 has a remote similar to the one pictured. The original owners replaced the radio with one that was not compatible so when I replaced my radio this year, I made sure to buy a Sony radio compatible with the remote just to find out my remote didn't work any longer. On my boat, the cable coming from the remote is very short with a plug on it as the one in your picture. It then plugs into the cable that runs from the swim platform to the radio. I was disappointed that it didn't work, but haven't tried to fix it or get it replaced yet. (If someone has one laying around they wanted to get rid of or a good source to buy one, please PM me). |
