Has anyone tried connecting the Sony XA-120iP iPod Adapter Interface 2003 Vista OEM Sony Xplod CDXCF50M head unit?? Is it compatible and does it work well? Can you control the iPod via the wired remotes? |

Can you control the iPod via the wired remotes? Your actual model number on your head unit is CDX-CA705M. The CDX-CF50M is something FW made up. Unfortunately, the iPod adapter you listed is NOT compatible with your head unit. Your best bet (financially) is to opt for a $50 FM modulator (one that that splices into the antenna line and cuts the reception ... NOT the wireless kind.) Take a look at this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142FMMOD02 ... ml?tp=1701 If you don't want that, you can always upgrade your head unit, but you'll need to make sure to get one that is compatible with the transom/cockpit remote. I opted for the FM modulator. Works like a charm. Craig C. |

Thanks for the reply and bummmmmmer.... FM modulator "works" but doesn't allow control of the IPOD via the wired remotes and doesn't charge the IPOD either. Hmmm need to consider a new Sony head unit or could be time to buy that new 408! |
