I have a 2000 298 Vista with the sliding companionway door and it has started to squeak when I slide it. Has anyone else run into this problem and what did you do to fix it? Thanks. |

I sprayed the upper and lower companionway door tracks with WD40 and it made it a little quieter and smoother to open and close, but the bottom track still squeaks quite a bit. Probably a small rock making all the noises (puts the fingernails to chalkboard to shame). |

Are you sure its the tracks? I had a squeak when opening & closeing, it ended up being the fiberglass cut out for the door didnt have enough clearence & would rub.Just a thought |

It just started to squeak so maybe it hasn't had time to mar the door yet. I will see if I can reset the door further back on the tracks. Good idea. Thanks. |

Update: The companionway door to my 298 Vista no longer squeaks. The door was on the tracks, but apparently the WD40 did the trick. Slides smooth as silk. Thanks. |
