Does anyone know how many BTUs the factory AC unit would be in an '04 268?

According to the parts list on the FW web site, its a 5000 BTU

http://www.fourwinns.net/partbook/basemodel.php?model=268V-D04

That is the same size we have in our boat, works ok, nothing to brag about. Some day I would like to upgrade to the 8k btu unit. Someone on this board posted they had done that with great improvement. Where we boat it can get 110 deg F and no shade, got to have a good A/C unit!

Thanks Powell. I can't believe I didn't think to look in the parts book, I only looked in "Fast Facts." Must be all this lack of sleep/excitement. I get the check for my old boat tomorrow, and we picked out our new boat yesterday, even got to see it in person :)

Looks like a big brother to your boat!

I just got done looking at your link to photo in other thread, looks like a very nice boat. I like the colors. You will be very happy with it.

Thanks. We are thrilled. It has everything we need, and best of all, it was close by.

If the reasoning behind this question was for portable generators the Hond EU2000 will be plenty. The only problem you might have is if you run the microwave while the AC is actually running.

We had the 5k unit on the 258 and it did just fine. We did run a fan to help circulate the air but we were always able to cool the cabin.
