Noticed my out drive trim was not working. looks like there is a leak coming from the hydraulic oil lines connected to the out drive. I have it at the shop but they have not checked it out yet. Have any of you seen this before? I couldn't get to the nut that connects the lines to the drive.

were u able to identify where the leak was coming from exactly? Was it from one of the lines? Did you have fluid in the reservoir?

The fluid was very low. and the leak seems to be coming from the very end of the line near the out drive cylinder.

If it's at the joint they are sealed with small "O" ring. A brake spanner would give better access to the nut than an open ended spanner and stop it getting rounded off, it might just need nipping up a little, or the "O" ring replacing

I think out here that a brake spanner would be referred to as a flare nut wrench :D

They got to look at it. Bad news. the line its self is cracked. they called volvo and they are on national back order. Sounds like this is a known issue due to bad design. You guys have any leads on this issue?

I'd try a local hydraulic hose/ line supplier.

Flare nut wrench? Took me ages to figure out what a "faucet" was ( "Tap" here in the UK). And as for aluminium and aluminum, let's not go there!

If you're really stuck and it's only a short term repair you're after for the 4th July weekend, the parts don't need to be stainless. Hydraulic hose suppliers usually have a load of different couplings/ metal pipes in stock.

Have you tried just snugging up the fitting yet?

Edit: Oops - just re-read the cracked hose post above....

WOW, I called 10 places, a few of them big ones in Detroit, no one has it. Bummer

Good luck, hope the hydraulic shop can make something work temporarily for you.
