I have a 1999 Vista 238 and of course the speedometer is not working. I took it apart and it looks fine. I have not checked it electricallly yet. Four winns does not have a good electrical schematic as to where it hooked up. I think it is a Airmar. The old Airmar number is not known but I think the new one is the S69. Does anyone have the specs on the old Speedo, so I can check it against the S69.

Not sure if this is the same problem but my speedo seems to not operate at times. I have found that if I am moving at less than 15MPH the unit doesn't respond. I'm not sure if the speedo is INOP or what but I have a GPS that reads the speed so I have decided to live with it. Good Luck.

My speedo works intermittently on my 248, find the pitot tube gets plugged, I also have a GPS so I really don't care if it works

Thanks for the response. I don't have the tube its just a magnetic wheel type. I haven't really got into looking as to why it dosent work. When I take her out for the end of the year, I will try to see what the problem is. Was wondering what to look for.

You need to check if the gauge is good or if the problem is the sending unit (paddle wheel). Do a search, somewhere I remember seeing the specs for checking with an ohm meter.
