The surveyor said this wasn't working on the boat I'm looking at purchasing. On my 225 Sundowner, a loud beep happens when you turn the key into the on position, and then thats it. If you leave the key on, the alarm doesn't sound.

My wife said on this 268 it didn't seem as loud as our 225, but it did make that loud beep. Is that all it is supposed to do? The surveyor seemed to say it should stay on until the engine starts, because of no oil PSI......

my 268 is the same way I turn the key on until the beep stops then start it. I think the initial beep is just a systems check.

Thanks guys. If I remember I'll check this on my 225 before I haul it over to its new owner, but my wife remembers the 268 sounds just like the 225 did.

If it starts beeping continuosly it is an alarm for low gear lube monitor level, if it just alarms steady it's low oil pressure.
