Good Evening to all, I am new to this site as we just purchased our neighbors 99 Vista 328 to add to our marina. This makes our 3rd boat, the first two are a Hunter 27 Sailboat and a little 16 foot jet boat. I was wondering if anyone could tell me or give me a ball park on what kind of mileage or gallons per hour I can expect to see from our new boat. Well not new but new to us. however it only has 350 hours on it and we are looking to break it in this weekend. any info would help. Brian Preston Toledo , OH |

This link should help... http://assets2.fourwinnsmarketing.com/p ... -89%29.pdf On the Four Winns web site there is an area called customer service that has all kinds of info on past models. You can get the brochure, manual, fast facts etc! Enjoy that beautiful boat! |

Thank you so much goldfish. we are looking forward to it. just trying to figure if it was gonna be a 1 credit card or 2 weekend. LOL My sail boat is cheap to operate and only has a 12 gallon tank. $600.00 plus to fill up this beast will take some getting used to , but hey you only live once right? Enjoy your weekend. Brian |

You don't go to a blow-boat to a big power cruiser and expect to save any money on gas. just be glad you didn't pick up the beauty when gas was $6/gallon last summer at marinas! I thought 165 gallons was bad enough... 220 would make me blush. ![]() Post some pics! Welcome to the forum! |

Fair estimate is about 1mpg. With a powerboat you trade the convenience of quick travel for money spent on fuel. Typical is 22-26 gph at cruising speed on plane. Crack the throttles wide open and you can expect to at least double the consumption. When having made a trip to St. Michael's some years ago a friend in a sailboat asked about the fuel cost of the trip, noting her trip was free. I countered with "Yeah, but it took you 8 hours, through yesterday's bad weather. Where I just left 45 minutes ago in bright early morning sunny weather on glass-smooth seas." I'll pick paying for a trip through smooth seas over 'free through a storm' every time. When our boy (now 1yr) is old enough to start handling lines we'll probably consider a sailboat. But one large enough for a decent RIB dinghy. Meanwhile the 348 gets us where we want to go without a lot of fuss. |

I always ask about the top speed with the engine and if a larger one can be ordered that will make it go faster. The catamaran people grasp the concept and do offer bigger engine choices. Trouble is there's not a lot of slips available for catamarans on the Chesapeake. So it'd be more likely we'd be looking at a 45-55' monohull like an Oyster. |

Hi, my 2000 328 gets very good gas milege . i am running a navman 5500 chartplotter with fuel managment. When crusing at 31 mph i get aprox. 1.58 mpg. i have twin 5.7 gsi duo props. I could get up to 1.68 mpg by throttleing back a little. this design and is great. I know you will love this boat. good luck with your boat, Joe. |
