I missing usermanual for my waterheater? It is the standard waterheater from Four Winns fabric. Maybe some one have a link to the manufactory for this device. I have a leak somewhere i think. Is that thermostat available at any hardware store? Mine likes to spit sometimes not all the time, when I have the heater turned on. |

I have a new thermostat and heating element available if you are interested. I was going to replace them on my original heater, but decided to replace the entire unit instead. Let me know if you are interested. |

I agree that looks like an Attwood heater. There's nothing on the back side of it. Everything that connects to it is on the side you have pictured. If you have a leak it's either a split in the tank or one of your water lines. I'd be inclined to think it's the lines. Make sure the tubing is firmly pressed into the fittings and that the collar isn't flush into the fitting. It'll look like there's about a 1/16" gap between the fitting and the collar. To remove a tube you push that collar back flush with the fitting and ease the tube out. Any chance of potential winter freeze issues? If you have to remove the heater you may find it easier to extract if you remove the square housing from it. Fro the looks of your picture that probably won't be necessary. You'd remove the batteries and then slide the heater over and then out. But if it's close then get out a 1/4" nutdriver and start taking off the bajillion sheetmetal screws all around the housing. The tank inside is round and the case is two pieces. Same thing when reinstalling it. One way you could eliminate the heater as a problem would be to bypass it. To do so you'd have to use a 1/2" pipe thread coupler. Remove the fittings into the heater and couple them together. It's the two with the gray tubing (not the third one atttached to the pressure relief valve). Or if you want to make it easy to bypass the heater for winter storage then install a Camco bypass kit. Then you just turn a valve to redirect the incoming cold right back out the hot side. Check that the tubing is tight first. Then bypass the heater. Also, make sure there's not water coming in from somewhere else. |

Ok, maybe a stupid question... I have yet to actually turn on our water heater... But, we get hot water when the engines are warm.... Can someone explain how the hot water is plumbed? How long should it take the hot water tank to heat from the point in which I flip on the breaker? half an hour? |

within 15 minutes, I have pretty warm water, and by 20 minutes or so, it's scalding  Justin |

Those dark hoses connected to your heater near the bottom draws water from the engine block to heat the water in your water heater when the engine(s) are running. When not, you flip the switch for the heater and it takes about 5 minutes for mine to get warm and about 15 to be really hot. |
