Well I took the 3 hour drive to see and sea trial a 298 vista yesterday and I am in love. The owner took meticulous care of it, not a scratch in the gel coat, engines run well and all maintenence done by four winns dealer. still plastic on the mattresses, still the original styrofoam in the microwave, yada, yada, yada. It doesnt have AC but I will probably consider adding that at another time. The only other option it doesnt have that I think I would want is the cockpit fridge. There is a cabinet door where it would go if it came with it. Has anyone addede one to their vista? If so is there anything I should consider? I see there is already 110 power there. Is there s specific fridge made for cockpits? Maybe one that is better at handling the elements? |

Assuming it's a 2004 based on the condition, here is the exact factory model. 065-1405 REFRIGERATOR, 120/12V NORCOLD #DE0040 Odd that there is neither a fridge nor an ice maker there. You can find the entire parts list here... http://www.fourwinns.net/partbook/basemodel.php?model=298V-D04 |

ChicagoTC is right.... it's a very specific unit that fits there as it has the left rear corner fabricated on an angle to fit within the confines of the cabinet. There is no cabinet door to cover it rather just the front of the fridge itself that protrudes about 2 inches beyond the face of the cabinet. Mine has a black gloss panel in the front. |

Its actually a 1999, the first year for the 298 model. I figured it would be a hard unit to find for a decent price because of its location. I figured it would be nice to have two fridges so guests do not have to go below to get a cold one. Hopefully I can find one. |
