I've got VERY low pressure going to my pump. Fresh water tank is full, I verified by the gauge and also by visually looking at the tank under the aft cabin. The pump is pumping just fine, strainer before the pump is also clean. There just isn't enough flow to the pump? This just started happening, when I sea trialed the boat and first got it home it was fine. Possibly some build up got loose and is clogging the lines now?

If I run the hot water, it spits out fine, but it does take a while for the pump to build up the tank pressure.

Any ideas?

No ideas? Water pressure is low on both the hot and cold. I removed the discharge side from the pump, and it barely comes out....

There is a valve by your water tank that might not be open. Also there should be a strainer on the line next to the pump might want to check those out.

Does the pump run and there is no pressure or does it not kick out? If the latter...

Pressure switch on pump, there is a cover you can remove and a screw which adjusts the pressure switch.

Strainer is clean, valve is open. The pump runs, very low pressure thought. It'll run and run and run, takes a LONG time to fill up a little bit of water from the hot water thank if I open up a hot water faucet.

Is the pressure switch at the bottom of the pump?

I should have phrased m question better. Does the pump eventually shut off if all the faucets are closed? The pressure switch shuts off the pump when the system is full pressurized. So assuming the pump eventually shuts off, is the water normal pressure when you first open a faucet?

Yes, but only briefly. It can't maintain pressure.

This should be your pump...

On the front there is a removable cover where it says flojet. Under there is a screw you can adjust to raise or lower the shut off pressure. I'd turn that up a bit to see if the pump will shut off with the system properly pressurized.

Will do. On my 225 it was only on for a few seconds, then shut off as it reached pressure. This one will run and run and run...

It looks like its a 4405 model. I found a 4406 model, I can get off eBay for quite a bit cheaper. Specs look the same...

Mine did the same thing at the beginning of the season, if I turned the pressure switch low enough to stop the constant running I had no water pressure. There are other possibilities I'd look into as well...

leak in a line somewhere
faucet with slow leak
leak in hot water tank

but mine turned out to be the pump, bought a new one at campers world.

Bit of a long shot....but is the tank vent clear and allowing air in?
Try running with tank filler cap off to vent the tank.

Good idea on the tank vent, I'll take the cap off and see what that does. I doubt there is a leak somewhere, as once it's pressurized it takes a long time before it comes on again. I can see a new pump in my future....just trying to verify thats what it is.

Is the pressure low at all faucets? I had trouble with a couple and it turned out that the faucet screen was plugged.

Are these pumps not rebuildable? I believe they are very simple with a small impeller in the head of the unit....Might just be cheaper to buy another pump, if the pumps is not the problem then you will have a spare or you could use the extra pump as a source for a transom washdown and anchor blaster (with lake water source point instead of fresh water)
