It is supposed to be hot this weekend, and I was curious who is running carry on ac in a Vista. It says that a 20 amp circuit should be used, but I think the 268 has a 15 amp, I could be wrong, will check tonight. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated. Have never really needed this before, but just wondering if it is worth it?? Thanks, KS.

I have never used a carry on, looked into buying them, but for approx the same money you can install a real A/C unit.

Check mermaid air, out of Florida. They have some nice units, and for less than the Dommetic.

We did have a mini swamp cooler, it worked somewhat for a small cuddy, but nothing compared to a real A/C unit.

Current boat has 5000 btu a/c, works ok, really need more.

We use a carry on with our 255 sundowner. It does very well in the cuddy, and for the camper canvas in the evenings only. Once the Florida sun starts to heat up, its all over.

I have one for my Vista. I plug it in the inside plug in the cabin. I only run it at night when its really warm. Otherwise, its at home. It is placed on the top deck port hole that opens into the cabin. Check out this site, this is the one I have... http://www.cruisair.com/carry.html

It does run all the time trying to keep cabin down in upper 70's during the day with sun out and 90 deg out side.
The honda EU2000 bearly knows that it is running a 5000btu unit, yes it could run a bigger unit. You got to know what the start up amps are, the EU2000 can only handle upto 15.5 amps surge 13 amps continuous.

I want a bigger A/C unit because the 5000 btu just does not cut it for us!
It does work good when the sun is down!!!!
