Well just to report that I have just completed a 1000 miles round trip with my V318 in 16 days, with my family (the 4 of us) , going through 40 locks, through thunderstorms , canals , long river stretch , boarded by homeland security and coast guard , towed a 20' cuddy out of power , and a few '' close mutiny'' ......
My overall appreciation for this boat is excellent , it takes waves pretty well but here are the few things that happened :
-Had to change vacuflush seal ball after 5 days... (I was told that no way the rest of the crew was going to sail without a non oprating toilet (all feminine!!!))
-Fuse blown for the windlass footswitch for no apparent reason. -Water ingress in the cabin through wiper during heavy downpour as we were approaching dock(as reported in a hurry by resting crewmembers) -Quite a bit of water coming inside the cokpit through some of the canvas in rain while underway and also radar arch (despite the addition of a silicone joint at the base of the arch... -Defective waste tank level indicator -A great looking boat ....Some nice boat out there , big ones too , but size sometimes does not make a Four Winns good look...
So all together the trip took 75 hours total for an average consumption of 11 gallons an hour....
