When I turn on my front spot light or running lights, my temp gage goes up for each of them. When i turn them off the temp goes down. I have a 1999 238 Vista with a 4.3. GI/DP.

HellO!
I have the same boat bigger engine. And had the same problem. When I emailed four winns they told me I need a new ground wire back to the battery from the spot light. I used the spot light sparingly until I could take a look at it. I looked at the connections on the light during the winter months and they seemed alright, no noticible corrosion. THe next year I rehooked up the batteries and made sure there was no corrosion on the terminals. I have had no problems as you have now. So I think it might be the battery terminal hook ups!
