i have a 2005 268 vista i just replaced the horn about two weeks with one from west marine, and now it is dead . So i returned it for another and dead again. has any one had this problem? switch is testing ok, there is power going to horn, what next? are those cheap horns.http://www.smwebhead.com/phpBB3/p ... =post&f=6# |

Intersting! Long story short my horm manufactuer says I have high resistance in the wiring causing a large voltage drop. Probably the same maufacturer as yours - FAIMM. Other similar boats have installed these with no problems. I still have not found the problem. Check out this thread. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2304 |

thanks for the link to the thread. I think my problem might just be cheap horn. after reading on line i can see that many people have had the same problem with the seafit horn from west marine. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/st ... artial/0/0. Do not anyone wast your money with these horns. Does any one know where to find a good replacement? also it still does not work when boat is running. |
