Hello Folks - Hope all had a great holiday weekend

2002 268 VISTA

How do I assemble the forward sleeper? I cant seem to figure out what "plank" is used as support for the forward pads to make the v-berth sleeper. This really racked my brain. I have 3 poles / all various sizes but none seemed to be the right hight for this - is it one solid piece that rests on the ledge?

My reverse is slaming or knocking hard into gear - shudders the boat with a "BUMP or "THUD" when doing so. Is this a cable adjustment or replacement - man, I hope so.

When using the fridge on shore power - do you need to keep it open and then wiped out when puting the boat away?

I'm storing my Honda 2000 Gen where the cooler once was to keep it out of the way - any other idea's on where to keep it - other than the swim platform while under way.

Deck Carpet - the black backing is coming off. Its a mess. How can I stop this from getting worse or do I just need to replace and if so, where can I do this? Four Winns?

I'll start here...... and thanks.

You should have a 1 piece insert that fills the hole

We moore the boat so we never turn the fridge off. If you are turning it off, wipe it out and leave the door open a box of arm & hammer doesn't hurt either.

Where is this kept? Where do I find it?

Look underneath the mid-cabin cushions.

You do not need a post for the Bow Bed. There should be a piece that fits into that area. One Post for the cabin table, One Post for the table on the top side rear and a short post that allows you to use to make a bed with a fill in cussion on the top side rear. As for the fridge I pull my boat out after every use. We leave a box of baking soda inside with the door open. As for the thump. Go to a mechanic. You can buy new carpet from a Four Winns Dealer. Get your wallet out!

Carpet-- Head to Menards/Lowe's/Home Depot. Buy some indoor/outdoor carpet, and trace your existing cockpit carpet over it. Cut it out, and get binding installed. I have $140 total in it, and we like it better than the factory carpet. Plus no rubber backing to fall apart again.

If your missing the forward berth plywood pcs, take a big pcs of cardboard and make a pattern, goto home depot and buy 3/4" plywood. Cut out using pattern. Test fit, finish however you would like. Store under mid cabin mattress.

Honda genset, I store/use mine on the swim deck until we get to camp site, then move to the beach. Have seen others carry there on the bow, I don't like that idea.

If fridge is turned off, door needs to be cracked to let it breathe. I too also use baking soda in boat and RV fridge.

The factory carpet from Four Winns will have that same nasty black rubber backing that comes off all over the place. There's no fix for it. Check out http://www.corinthianmarine.com , they use a vinyl-ribbed Aqualoc backing that will not break down over time.
