I don't have any pics of the AC unit in mine but basically, it's mounted in the port side of the aft cabin, behind a panel that would probably be for storage otherwise. There's a vent nearby for the aft cabin area, then another vent right above the dining table, and then one more on the port side bulkhead for the v-berth. The condensate drains go into the engine compartment bilge and the water intake is where toilet water intake and other strainer(s) are under the aft cabin cushions. The electric water pump for the air conditioner is there also. The outlet for the water goes out the side of the hull on the port side.

Thanks,
That is where I thought it would go and the vents in the cabin area are already there.

My 97 278 had an aftermarket a/c mounted under the aft dinnete bench. Raw water pick up and pump were in the engine compartment. I routed the condensate to the shower sump. I'd rather keep my bilges dry if possible. My boat did not have a port side compartment in the aft cabin, only a shelf.

Could you tell me how they route the water line to the AC unit? I want to make sure before I start drilling holes. Does it go straight up to the panel under the aft cabin? It doesn't look like much room and will be hard to keep the line going up hill.
Thanks

On mine the pump is mounted in the aft-cabin bilge compartment on the right side, just under the lid if you're facing the stern of the boat. My hose doesn't go completely go uphill and it doesn't have to because the pump will take care of it. I noticed that when I blew the water out of the line last weekend - there's a low spot in there somewhere, which isn't a big deal because I run antifreeze in the line as well as blow the water out first.

Another thing to watch - while working on some of the winterizing this last weekend I found that FW didn't bed my AC strainer right and the 4" blocks of 1/2" plywood used to core where the fittings go through were all soaked. I've owned the boat for 3 years and didn't even notice that the previous owner had drilled a small hole, likely found the core was soaked, then sealed the hole up with some epoxy. I had to cut the fiberglass out and replace the plywood, then reglass it. Not terribly difficult, but it was something that needed to be done right.

Thanks, how did they route the water line from the pump to the ac unit?

I need to take a close look at it to find out exactly, but I'm out of town at the moment and won't be home until tomorrow night. I'll be working on it Sunday so I'll get the specifics for you then.

Joe

I will hold off drilling holes until then.

I checked out the water line routing last night and it starts in the bilge compartment as we discussed before. It goes through the stringer into the storage compartment that runs between the stringers toward the front of the boat. The hose is strapped down along the top of the compartment so it's not in the way. It then runs into the storage under the bottom step, then into the compartment under the top step. From there it goes into the area where the electrical panel is, and from there goes back to the shelf above the aft cabin bed where the AC unit is mounted.

I'll be doing a lot of work in that area today rebedding the thru-hull fittings and replacing the sanitation hoses so I'll snap a few pics of the setup and hopefully get them posted tonight.

Joe

Here are a few pics... Hopefully they'll help. The last one shows the condensate drain routed through the bulkhead into the engine bilge compartment.

Sorry I missed your post - All of the ducts are on the port side. One in the v-berth bulkhead just above the storage ledge that goes around the v-berth, one about centered over the table, and then one in the aft cabin near the AC unit.
