I don't know if any of you have tried this but here in Florida it is so hot in the summer that sitting the cockpit area is impossible without melting even at night. What we have done is purchased a portable A/C from Costco and when we are set up at a weekend spot put the camper canvas up and start the A/C so we can sit outside and watch TV and the world go by without having to sit down below. ![]() [img]http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr275/lauren9696/th_SouthBeachandSouthSeas054.jpg[/im |

That is a pretty cool idea... I see you are from Fort Myers. What are your favourite boating spots around there? Richard |

We have the Carry-on A/C from cruise air. I saw 2 suitcase style A/C units at that Nautical Trader place up here in Nokomis. Literally the size of a suitcase!!! Was up in NY this week, and saw a lot full of shrink wraped boats........................................ ![]() As you can see from his signature............Dave likes South Seas!!!!! |

Is it the kind you need to have a cooler full of ice? |

It works great when the sun gets a little lower in the sky. We plug it into the outlet near the ice maker and put the condenser exhaust out the starboard side. We are able to get the cockpit down to the mid 70's when it is 85 plus outside. ![]() |

Hey Richard, Our weekend stays we enjoy Southseas because there is something for everyone to do. Day runs we hit Cape Harbour and Ft Myers Beach restaurants also Cabage Key before the tour boats get there. When the afternoon storms are gone a Naples run is a nice ride. How about you? |

We are still trying to find nice spots as we only got the boat a couple of months ago. Southseas is definitely on our to do list. And Fort Myers Beach is a nice day ride. Need to check out the other places you mention... There also is a nice small island somewhere halfway between Cape Coral and Fort Myers Beach that we like going to. We just recently started using the boat as well to go to down town Fort Myers. We just leave the boat at the Marina and have some good food downtown. Or drinks and stay the night... |

A downtown stay is a lot of fun, hook up in the yacht basin and hit the clubs for the night no driving just an easy walk, or uneasy walk ![]() The Admiral told me tonight that we are heading to South Seas Saturday morning to spend the night and head home mid afternoon on Sunday. |

I hope you'll have a great time!!! How does it work at South Seas? Do you have to reserve a slot for the boat? I can't seem to see much boating info on their website. |

If you plan on going just call their number and asked for the yacht harbour, tell them when you want to come and you will be all set. When you get near give them a call on the radio and they will give you your dock assignment and meet you there to help you get tied up. No big deal and then kick back and enjoy. If the rains hold off we are heading there on Saturday morning. |
