The marina manager informs me someone whacked my anchor roller this past Saturday. An eff'ing ragbagger transient in town for the sailboat show. Grrr.... and for this I pay to belong to a private marina? Well, at least they left a note with actual working phone numbers. Fortunately it appears it's only the metal channel that's wrecked and not any underlying fiberglass.

Now the hassle is babysitting getting the repairs done. As if there wasn't enough to do already...

Damn Bill, sucks to hear that! Guessing it was a blow boat? The slip next to you isn't a transient slip is it?

Almost went to baltimore last weekend with a 38' sea-ray hardtop like an 07 from the base marina... very nice. I didn't get the details but he somehow managed to put is anchor channel *through* his buddies boat! I think they were down at that new marina manuvering around... Man I've seen and heard about a LOT of damages this season! I almost feel like I'm on borrowed time!

Yes, it was a sailboat (that would be explained by the derogatory 'ragbagger' comment). I believe it was in one of the slips opposite mine on the fairway. There was a fair bit of wind that day so it's not like incompetence alone is the excuse. Ah well, could've been worse, I suppose.

The metal anchor roller 'channel' would make a pretty good spear if you jabbed it into another boat.

And yes, I've already thought about line from the Caddy Shack. Fortunately or not the anchor itself didn't get scratched.

Sort of of topic but not really.....Is everyone's deductible 1% of agreed value? Friends of mine have a $250.00 deductible from our incident back in July, while I have a $2700.00 deductible.

Might be worth it's own thread. Ours is a 1% deductible. Our carrier has left marine insurance so we'll be shopping for something new. I'd wonder what carrier your friends have?

I'm with State Farm, with everything. I've heard Boat US is good, but try getting the wife to sign off on a higher insurance premium when she just say yes to a new boat!!
