Well the first weekend onboard was awsome. Spent Saturday and Sunday night on the boat at a CT river marina. I think I am going to get rid of the trailer and get a slip. Its the only way to go. Trailering is getting to be a pain in the ***. Too many idiots at the ramps adding too much stress to a good day. My only problem is that I do not want to bottom paint the boat. Is there any problem with not doing it? It would be in fresh water. Well anyway thats a whole other thread. Here are some pics of my view. Some are alittle blury but you get the idea :D [/img]Image[img][/img]Image[img][/img]Image

We sure don't miss trailering - heck, we don't even own a trailer for our 268.

Glad you had fun.

We keep a 268 on the lower Ct. Even though we love a trip to Shelter Island, NY now and then we most enjoy sleeping on anchor up the CT River. Its a awesome place to relax.....enjoy :D :D :D

Where do you slip your 268? Last week I put her in Brewers Deep River for the summer. Nice marina and pretty close to everything.

Ragged Rock, Old Saybrook. Great access to river and sound. Not sure where you live but its a great sheltered marina.

I live in Portland but Brewers Deep River is behind Eustasia Island on the River. It is pretty protected there as well. We do get a pretty good current from time to time though.

Know the spot. Caught a few Bass up there with a buddy that keeps his boat at Seaboard. We spend more time achored south of middletown. If your ever down around Salmon cove see if we are there maybe we'll have a drink.
