We have a 348 Vista. Our warranty will expire at the end of April. We still have the warranty on the motors till 2013. Is there a place that you can get a extended warranty on the boat for a couple more years?

Several choices, but not through the Manufacturer. They are just like the extended warranty car dealers try and sell you when you buy a new car. All subject to the fine print in the contract as to whether the claim will be honored. If I was in your position, I would just put money away in a cookie jar and let it build up if and when you need it for something. You can check these and see if it might be worth the expense. Basically it's just extended insurance coverage you might even be able to get through your boat insurance provider.

I purchased one for my 298 Vista (twin Volvo Pentas) and I believe it was from Volvo Penta themselves. Don't worry though, the warranty companies will be crawling out of the woodwork before too long to offer their services. Not cheap, but it gives you a piece of mind. I would talk to your dealer because I tried to utilize mine for my trim senders (which were under the warranty) and I never was able to get someone to fix them. My dealer had gone out of business and no one else cared.

P.S. I just read Cap'n Morgan's post while previewing this one and he is right on the money with regard to the hassle. However, you better have a big cookie jar if something major happens. I would still recommend one for the big hit.
