I have a 2002 268 Vista with 350 MPI Merc DP. I know you never get the performance that the mfg. says (weight of fuel, water, people etc.). On my boat I run about 4000 rpm to get a cruise speed of 30mph on both speedo and GPS. Does that seem normal to you guys? Seems a little high on the RPM for what I'm getting.

You should be at about 34mph at 4,000 RPM, under ideal conditions.

also depends on what elevation your boating at as well.

If it was prop'd/geared for high alt and you have boat near sea level you will notice higher RPM/slower sleep, possibly over limit on RPM at WOT.

What RPM do you see at WOT, is it near what manufacture recommends?
