Any of you have a solution for water coming at junction of canvas and windshield????

Not really practical when running at cruising speed and water leaking at the same time?

easy solution in weather like that -- stay at the dock.



We have run in inclement weather, but probably at enough velocity to cause water coming through there.

I presume you have everything snapped, zipped, and velcro'd?

Can you add a couple of snaps at the junction? Seems like a design flaw. I don't ever remember a gap that big on the canvas I had on my cruiser.

I've had some water coming in at that spot on my 225 Sundowner, but nothing that extreme. We're talking a drops, nothing a towel on the helm can't absorb.

I can't find the picture of that exact spot, so this will have to do....

have the same problem at the same spot when running in the rain. Bad design from a company who designed a canvas system for the occasional shower not year round use in the NW. We do the same thing with towels to keep the water out.

I haven't had any leaking in that location but your original issue around the arch is a constant problem. I don't know if I am alone but our canvas has had a real shrinkage problem mainly around the stern. I can not even stretch it enough to snap the corners.

Our 348 will leak somewhat if we try to go more than 15mph or so in the rain. It's just a side-effect of the water being forced up and under the lip. I did improve it somewhat my moving the snaps a little to get a better seal. But there's really not a way to make it perfect using snaps and the rubber strip. I toyed with the idea of adding some weatherstripping to the edge. Something made out of a softer type of foam would probably give a better seal, but wouldn't be as durable as the existing rubber. The combination of the two might seal better.

This spring I'm going to have some new forward panels made, probably using EZ-2-CY hard plastic panels. Not cheap but I'm sick of the poor visibility provided by clear vinyl. The panels require changing from a snap system to one that uses a channel. I'm guessing that will also reduce the water intrusion somewhat.

To the original post of water under the arch....I had my dealer caulk the entire area where the aech meets the deck even through the hinge to seal it up. I have not had any water intrusion at all.

Haven't seen a water problem there on the 318 near me last season. My 338 and another were also good there. I'd chase that by pouring water to evaluate what's going on.
