Hi guys,
I just got my survey back for the 1991 325 Vista. The most concerning item was that the moisture content in the inboard and outboard stringers on both the port and starboard sides was 67% near the transome and 25% farther forward.
The surveyor indicated that there did not appear to be structural damage, but I am a bit skeptical.
What does it take to repair this issue?
The surveyor has taken a bit of a "softline". I understand that if he comes on strong he may never get a referral from the marina again.

Your help is appreciated.

Stringer repair can be VERY costly. Unless you are totally in love with this boat, have no problems dumping $'s into it, plan to keep it forever, I would walk away from the deal. The boat is going to be a money pit I fear.

Good Luck.

Thanks Guys,
I am having a fiberglass guy look at it. The wood in the stringer appears to be OK. The surveyor didn't hink it was a big deal, but did think the moisture in the fiberglass should be corrected.

If the owner isn't willing to do this in a way I find acceptable, I will certainly walk away.
