Just took my 298 in for its 100 hour service. It costing $1300! What was your 100 service costs? Anything I should look for when I get it back?

Taking it to Key West on Tuesday, want to make sure everything is running right.
Thanks,
Fins

What exactly did they do for that kind of money ?

I have never bought and never will be able to afford a new boat, so 100 hour service is something I won't have to worry about. I'm just curious what they included for the $1300.

What the heck did they do? I can't say how much a dealer would charge as I do the work myself. I know what the parts/supplies cost and the amount of time I spend.

100 hrs service should consist of (per drive/engine):

    1. Gear Lube change. $25 gear lube and at best 1 hrs labor.
    2. New fuel/water separating filter. $10 for the filter and a best .25 hrs labor
    3. Oil/Filter change. $30 in oil plus $7 for the filter and .75 hrs labor.
    4. New raw water impeller. $45 for the impeller and .75 hrs labor to change.
    5. An alignment check (maybe). If they do it, figure at most it should be $150.

During the alignment check they should inspect the gimbal bearing, universals and the bellows for any leaks, cracks, etc. Several of the jobs can be done in tandem. I change out he fuel filters as the oil is being sucked from the engine and also draining the gear lube into a pan.

Part # 39. It's a fuel filter that has the ability to separate small amounts of water that may contaminate the fuel.
