looking to buy 238 vista ? hi everyone . i am looking at a 1995 vista 238 . it has the 5.0 litre engine and the omc cobra sterndrive . i have heard that sterndrive is hard to find parts for . i have always had the 350 gm motor and merc sterndrive . i am also looking at a 1993 searay 230 . any thoughts on the ford engine , or the omc cobra sterndrive ? thanks .. |

Welcome, I own a 97 23.8 and throughly enjoy it. Can't help you on the OMC outdrives. Hopefully someone will reply with positive info for you. If I can be of any help, drop a line! Have a GREAT summer boating! |

I had a '95 sundowner with the king cobra outdrive, I think the cobra drive is a good unit as well. Ford motors, I would be more worried about how it was taken care of vs. what brand. The ford motor is fine, just not as common as GM. As for getting parts for Ford, GM, merc, omc, volvo. any and all can be found, just search the web, or grab a boating magazine and look at there adds for suppliers. |
