Post subject:  getting ready for spring cleaning and maintenance
I just purchased my supplies to get the boat ready for my May 1st launch. I have the whole month of April to tinker. :)

CPP Plus Antifouling Paint
PLEXUS PRODUCTS Plastic Polish
MEGUIARS Flagship Premium Marine Wax
MEGUIARS Metal Polish
Amazing Roll Off All Purpose Cleaner
STARBRITE Sea Safe Bilge Cleaner

3852111 GASKET (Volvo Penta)
3587597 THERMOSTAT (Volvo Penta)
983944 O-RING (Volvo Penta)

3862228 FUEL FILTER (Volvo Penta)
968842 FLANGE SCREW (Volvo Penta)

I changed the oil and filter this fall.
I need to check the lower unit gear lube.

Charge up the batteries and clean the inside.

When was the last time you replaced your water pump impeller? I had one fail on my old boat with no warning. It is now on my annual replacement list.

That's a good point... I have a new one on the boat. I replaced the old one last year and have the spare on the boat with the proper tools to change it out if necessary, but I think it will be okay, the last one lasted six years.

i am no professional mechanic but i thought you were supposed to change lower gear oil before winter in case you had water in there. good idea on list i think i might start one myself.

If the lower gear unit lube looked milky I probably would have, it would have indicated that there was water in the unit. i didn't have that issue, but it is a good suggestion.

Thats to bad you have to wait till may 1st, Nothing is stopping me from launching my boat this weekend, not the cold
weather or the boat ramp lock. The ice melted this past monday and I'm going in when I get home from my trip.
