Anyone upgraded from having just the temp/depth transducer to one that worked with a fishfinder? I'm considering replacing the existing transducer with one that'd be compatible with raymarine's fish finder for the E-80. Mainly to avoid putting another hole through the hull and using the existing setup. Anyone know if it's possible?

If the hole diameter of the existing transducer is the same size or smaller than the new one I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Hi--I went with a transom mount--saved messing around with the one already in there and I have the added bonus of some level of back-up.

Just curious did you ever install a new transducer. I have been looking at them myself. I am putting in a b60-20 garmin made by airmar. I plan on drilling a new hole on the port side opposite the depth. Hope it goes ok.

Haven't done it yet. I may just go with a second one, possibly with a different placement. For backup mainly. But I'll have to research how well (if at all) the E-80 deals with a second transducer. I've got until mid-March before it goes back in the water so it's not been on my immediate to-do list.

Dude. Mid-March is like next week.

If not, your dealer is a lot more responsive than mine.
