Post subject: | upgrading transducer? |
Anyone upgraded from having just the temp/depth transducer to one that worked with a fishfinder? I'm considering replacing the existing transducer with one that'd be compatible with raymarine's fish finder for the E-80. Mainly to avoid putting another hole through the hull and using the existing setup. Anyone know if it's possible? |

If the hole diameter of the existing transducer is the same size or smaller than the new one I can't see why it wouldn't work. |

Hi--I went with a transom mount--saved messing around with the one already in there and I have the added bonus of some level of back-up. Regards, mike288 |

Just curious did you ever install a new transducer. I have been looking at them myself. I am putting in a b60-20 garmin made by airmar. I plan on drilling a new hole on the port side opposite the depth. Hope it goes ok. ![]() |

Haven't done it yet. I may just go with a second one, possibly with a different placement. For backup mainly. But I'll have to research how well (if at all) the E-80 deals with a second transducer. I've got until mid-March before it goes back in the water so it's not been on my immediate to-do list. |

Dude. Mid-March is like next week. If not, your dealer is a lot more responsive than mine. |
