Hey guys, where is the depth sounder transducer located on my boat? I'm lacking any sort of manual or schematic that will give me a hint on where to start looking. Thanks in advance.

No ideas anybody? My mechanic said he has found depth finder transducers mounted "under the head" in other makes of boats. I'm assuming it should be located in the engine compartment, but I have spent a bit of time down there and have found nothing that resembles a transducer. Do I have refrigerator blindness and it is right in front of my face?

Hi Narcosis, I do not own a Vista but might be able to send you in the right direction...Have you checked out Four Winns past spec information? You should be able to look at a manual that might give a better detail information about where that might be located.

Thanks MdRobins. I have searched the manual with no success. I will review it again though.

Did anyone ever successfully find the transducer location for the Vista 298? The manual was no help whatsoever and we've tried to located it by sight and have had no luck....any help would be appreciated!!

I ended up having an electrician install the sounder module for my raymarine C-80. He said it was an actual thru-hull. I believe it is under the port engine. Its funny because its still a mystery to me but now that its working I don't think about it!

FYI, I checked my 298 and found it right below the batteries, just in front of the port side engine.
