Does anyone have a 1990 265 Vista or similar craft? I have single 5.7L (350 Chevy) with a Cobra outdrive. I have a brand new motor and a rebuilt outdrive. Mechanically, everything is brand new and even a little hot rodded. I'm running a SS 3-blade 15x16 prop. Fully loaded, I can only get 26mph at 4300rpm. Boat is stored in dry dock. The prop is not damage, visual. I'm wondering what is causing the poor performance? The Four Winns maunal says I should get 38mph with a 15x15 prop.

Thoughts on a SS 4-blade prop? I'm not after speed but rather quicker planning.

def. play with the pitch, I had a similar sized bayliner and a 4-blade prop seemed to help planing while still hitting around mid 30's fully loaded--it had the 5.7 as well.
