I've had the dinghy for a year now... I've had the weaver parts and peices collected for many months. It just hasn't been on the priority list. I finally got the dinghy mounted up with the weaver davit system on the 318. I used the quick release shoes. My davit arms are 6 out and 4 down. The dinghy is pretty close to the same as Sierra's -- 9'10''. It pushes wide on the 10'9'' beam. But, I wanted to be able to take 4 adults, or 2 and some supplies - so size was important. It folds up nicely with the bench seat installed and lays flat against the back of the Magma... a perfect fit. Question for anyone with A vista that used weaver's, I need to install the support arms. I am having trouble finding a good spot that won't interfere if I need to raise the engine hatch, or be a 'hook' on someone's tow or clothing. Where are people mounting their support arms to on Vista's? Any help or feedback would be great. Also - I think I have a couple places identified - however, thru-bolting isn't an option due to accessibility. Any concerns with screws and some 4200/5200? Think that would be sufficient? ![]() ![]() |

Great job Cougar, I have the Dinghy Caddy installed on my 318 and use a cleat mounted to the stationary transom area between the shore power hookup and the transom locker. You can't get to the inside but I used marine toggle fasteners. So far so good, as my setup holds a 10' inflatable RIB 150lbs, 15hp Yamaha outboard 79lbs and 6 gallons of fuel. Even in rough seas there is no indication of stress. Here are some pics of another 318 with this setup and the fasteners. It is hard to see but you will understand the location. http://www.dinghycaddy.com/gallery2009/picture_968.jpg http://www.dinghycaddy.com/gallery2009/picture_969.jpg http://www.anchorco.com/images/quarter_20_03_big.jpg Good luck |

Im not sure Cougarcruiser visits this site much anymore as he has moved on to other brands but I can tell you that the bar you are asking about is a Four Winns made swim platform accesory bar. Youre best bet might be to contact your local Four Winns dealer but I have to warn you they are pricey and may be difficult to add if access to the inside of your platform is limited. Most of those bars were added during the build of those vintage boats. |
