I have some bubbling on the windshield frame I would like to repair. I got the touchup spray from Taylor. Can anyone offer advice in doing this repair or suggest someone that can? It is a 2005 Four Winns 298 Vista

Thanks

Sand the area down to a smooth surface. Where it's bubbling, make you you sand it down and 'feather' out any ridges so that you get a smooth paint surface.

Don't spray on a super humid day, but warm weather is great... tape off any areas as you normally would.

Nice, even, long spraying. It'll turn out great!

Once done, you may need to do a little wet sanding to blend it in.

Personally, I would use Alumiprep 33 and Alodine 1201 to assist in the Aluminum surface preparation. You need all the help you can get prepping aluminum for a marine environment... especially if there are a lot of chlorides in the air (salt and brackish environments). The Alumiprep is a cleaner and the Alodine is an etcher. They work wonders on painting the drives. I would also suggest a dremel flapper - sanding wheel if you have heavy corrosion to get through, then hand sand with 150 and you should be in good shape. Just google the chemicals, they are available online. Remember - a paint job is only as good as the surface preparation.
