Greetings -- I filled up the water tank on my 268 vista and went down to the head to look and the led indicator lights (whether it is full or not) and the indicator for the holding tank was fine/normal. The indicator for the water was blinking and only had one led light on (indicating that the i need to add more water, but that tank was full). Any idea what a blinking led indicator light is trying to, well, indicate?

Thanks in advance.

chances are its not the indicator light that is the problem and its not trying to tell you anything except that its empty even though its not. Its likely a bad sensor or float (not sure what they use) Mine does the same thing but for my waste tank.

that's what i was thinking. i'd rather have the sensor go bad on the water tank than the waste tank. when we are out on the hook it is easy to keep track of the waste tank wit the led indicators.

thanks for the reply.

Mine blinks when I disconnect the senders. Last year I noticed it when I took both my waste and grey water senders out to clean. Once I put them back in, one indicator was still blinking. Ended up not fully connecting the pigtail connection.

Get out the wiring diagram. I replaced both of my sensors with the new, updated version, and they still didn't work. Turns out the wiring was put into the wiring connector at the back of the gauge wrong.

I have a 2005 V268, Had the same problem with mine. Fireboy Xintex on the 05 boat. One thing the manual suggests is to unplug the connector to the display, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in and retest. Did this to no avail, after having the potable water level probe replaced under warranty and having both fail shortly after, I replaced the whole system with a Dometic unit. You have to run more wiring but was worth it. No problems since.

Ditto on heaving the Xintex crap overboard. The Dometic has been, thus far, reliable. Truth be told I'd be inclined to go with one of the external sensor types if/when I have to replace anything again. I didn't last time because the factory provided me the Dometic replacement under warranty. But if I'm spending my own dime next time it'll be on the external foil sensor type.
