| Post subject: | Lost my keys!!! |
Hey guys, long story short, I lost my boat keys and the spares are locked in the cabin, which is the perfect place to keep them!! Does anyone know if there is a trick to get in the cabin wo a key? The boat is an hour away, and I'm hoping I left the keys on it, but I don't think I did. Thanks! |

Some of the overhead hatches can be opened, especially if the handle wasn't fully turned and latched. Otherwise it's just a lock like anything else. Call a local locksmith to pick it. The price paid will be your lesson learned. As I recall the keys themselves are very similar to those used on motorcycles. Enough so that I had some spares cut at a local Sears. I keep a key to the companionway door on my auto key ring. That way if I made it to the boat (45 minutes away) I'll surely have the key on me. I also have spares at home. |
