Has anyone removed the covers from the mid-cabin cushions (I have a 248, but guess it is the same for other models) and washed them?
Are they a pain to put back on?

Not that bad. With this boat, and my previous 225 Sundowner, we removed all interior covers and washed them. Delicate cycle, and air dry. There is plastic covering the foam, so care is needed when you take off/put back on.

I bought my boat late last season so over the winter I removed and washed all of those covers. As firecadet613 mentions watch the pastic sheeting inside and also note the plastic is installed on the "up side" of the foam cushion. When I went to assemble the covers this spring I initially thought the plastic should be on the bottom side of the foam (figuring it would protect the bottom of the cushion from moisture) but I'm fairly certain it's on the top side. They went back together without any problem.

Great idea. I have tried to clean mine with various types of cleaners (carpet cleaner, etc). This will be my next step.

For what its worth - I have heard that the purpose of the plastic is to ease the process of inserting the foam into the covers. That is why the plastic is so thin.
