Today was our first full day of ownership of our 2001 Vista 298 and I have a question...does the middle rocker switch just inside the cabin door (the one labeled "low level lights" and "night light" actually do anything? I can't find any lights that would qualify as low level or a night light but when I flip the switch into either position the red indicator light on the switch comes on. Any ideas?

It controls just one light to my knowledge - it is the most forward light above the mirror. I can not explain why it is a two position switch and marked as such. Enjoy the boat - I too have a 298 and will try to help with questions. Enjoy!

I'll have to check that out today. Thanks.

Have the same switch on my 328. On my boat, there are rope lights above and below the kitchen galley. The "lower light" position turns on the rope lights on near the floor under the fridge, and the "night light" position turns on the both the lower rope lights, and ropes lights mounted on the very top of the cabinets.

No rope lights on our boat. I've seen that setup on other boats though I like it. I think it looks really nice.
