If you are comparing the 268 and 278 I think they are exactly the same exterior dimensions. The 278 may be a tad longer inside (inches) since the swimplatform is shortened. The layout is changed a little and we prefer the 268's layout better. we don't need a sink in the main area up top and it just takes up room for us. Campared to the Sea Ray, we like the look and layout much better. The SR looks dated and you have to get a Merc. with it.

Now that we've spent a little time on board our 288 with the fixed berth I really don't think the cabin is crowded at all. The only time this may be true is when the settie table is in place. The fixed vberth is awesome. It's very spacious, and best of all there is no screwing around with the support board and cusions like in our 268. The other space thing of note is the head. It's easily twice a big at the 268s which makes it actually usable.

This boat has a ton of storage (which I'm confident I can fill in no time at all), and lots of room up on the deck.
