I recently had my horizontal traverse on my flood/spot go out on my 318V. The light spins freely now, and when using the helm controls, it only catches intermittently. I took apart the light, and found that I can not get at the gears unless you disassemble the entire guts of the light. My question is, is it worth trying to fix this, or just replace the entire light fixture? Anybody have similiar issue?

I would contact Guest. Often they will replace the unit on a newer boat like yours. Or at least they
can point you in the right direction for parts/repair.

I had the same problem earlier in the year, but my verticle control went out. I could hear what sounded like a bunch of broken pieces rattling around inside the unit. Once apart I could see my control motor and gear assembly screws backed out and the whole assembly slid out of the slotted retainer bracket that held it in! Once I slid the motor/gears back into place and tightned everything up it worked perfectly! After looking at the cost of replacement I would say it's definitely worth fixing if you can!
