I'm looking for some help from the 23.8 or 24.8 Vista owners out there. I'm considering an extended swim platform for my "97" 23.8. It's available from both Swim Platforms Inc and Four Winns. I have received a price quote and pictures from Swim Platforms showing their platform installed on a 23.8. Four Winns has produced a price and a poor quality black and white photo copy of only the platform with it's dimensions. My local Four Winns dealer cannot locate any brochures or literature showing my year and model with the factory installed extension on it, even though it was offered as an option. The dealer recalls installing about a dozen or so and stated that the extension mounts over top of the existing swim platform.
So, what I'd like to ask is if anyone has a similar year and model with the Four Winns extended swim platform, could you please post a couple pictures in reply to this message or to my e-mail at Glasport@ptd.net, so that my wife and I can make a more informed decision. You know the old saying, a picture's worth a thousand words. Any information or advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks Everyone! :D

This might help. It's not Four Winns, but it's supposed to be high quality and each one is custom made just for you. I think I'm going to pull the trigger and get one for my sundowner. Here is the link http://swimplatforms.contentpros.net/PlatformSelection/BoatMakeandModel/FourWinns/FourWinns238Vista/tabid/2633/Default.aspx.

Thank You guys for your input and pic's. I believe we are leaning toward the Swim Platforms extension. Their website shows a pretty impressive and extensive product line.

Thanks for your help! :D

I called Four Winns, and after installation, your looking at around $1900 for one from them.

Muligan, the quote I received from my dealer was $2380.20 and that didn't include installation. I believe I'm going to purchase the extension from Swim Platforms Inc.. It will extend from the stern almost 7" further than the Four Winns platform and since it will be mounted below the existing one, it will be almost 4" closer to the water.
Should work out nicely.

Thanks for your Input! :D

Will do! Plenty of pic's. It should be an early spring project....unless the urge gets worse.
Then it might be on before Thanksgiving.

I had a 1999 238 (before I got my 298) and had a swim platform installed by the Four Winns dealer- It was the best thing I ever did to that boat! The platform installed above the existing factory mount which I thought worked quite well. Sounds like the price has gone up because I only paid about $1,100 installed, although that was in 2003.

Monsignor,

By any chance would you have pictures that may have a view of the swim platform. I'm still interested in the factory platform as I haven't placed an order yet. I'm not sure that the picture above sent by Capt'n Morgan is a Four Winns platform. The spec sheet I received from Four Winns shows that it has a 4" edge. The pic above shows about 1".
In any case, I agree that an extension will be worth it.

Thanks Monsignor!
