Ok...any tips for fitting the screens on the forward hatches? I didn't spend too much time trying to figure it out today but it looks like a pain in the butt. My hope is that putting those screens on and stretching them around the opening is something that gets easier everytime you do it. Please tell me that's the case....and if you have any hints I'd love to hear them. |

Our wraps around hatch frame, its just a screen with bungee cord that fits into groove of frame. Its kinda like fitting a hair net around an ice cream bucket. I don't think its that big a deal once you figure it out, I don't know exactly how to describe. Start installing screen, move hands around hatch away from each other until they meet up on other side of frame, all elastic cord should be in groove of frame. Takes no more than a seconds to install. |

I'm just going to have to play with it some more. I'm sure once I figure it out, it'll be easy. |

I believe your thinking about the port windows. We are talking about the large hatch in the roof of the cabin. |

something like this is what is on the 318. No fumbling, pull one way for the screen pull the other for a sun shade. http://www.westmarine.com/1/1/5527-20-x-20-shade-screen-fits-lewmar-hatches-white.html |

On our 268, it's a real pita too. We have three little snaps that go on and then you slowly work the line around into the groove. I've had fits trying to get it on. It basically takes one person to hold one side into the groove while the other person works the rest of it into the groove. If yours has the little plastic snaps on yours, put those on first then fight with the rest of it. Hope this helps. |
